For my public service hours, I assisted people back in my hometown of Mooresville, North Carolina. I spent an entire day selling tickets with the Power of the Past Tractor club. They were selling raffle tickets for an antique tractor to people at a tractor show, and all the proceeds went to Holy Angel's Children's Home in Belmont, NC. I believe we sold around $200 worth of tickets.
I also returned to my old school to do some coahing in Digital Media. I spent an afternoon teaching kids how to use art software and what they can expect from the college experience. They found it very informative, and I even managed to convince some of them to apply to ETSU this autumn. Some are even applying for the fine and performing arts scholarship.
In total, I have accumulated 14 hours of community service, and I had a great time doing it! (Sorry for the terrible picture, but it's to prove I did something).
